How much does Snapchat earn from your data?

Snap still reports the number straight: $36.82 per North American user in 2025, against a global average of $12.61, with Q2 2026 revenue up another 9%. A mid-size entry in this collection — but a premium one for advertisers chasing an audience the bigger platforms under-deliver: the young.

How Snapchat turns you into revenue

Snap's pitch to advertisers is demographic scarcity: a daily audience heavy in 13–34-year-olds who are hard to reach on TV or Facebook. The formats are the differentiator — sponsored AR lenses and filters that users put on their own faces, which produces engagement data no feed ad can match. The four-times gap between North American and European ARPU is the same regional-pricing story as every entry here, reported plainly in Snap's quarterly filings.

Snapchat's messaging content disappears; its metadata doesn't. Who you snap, how often, which lenses you use and what you watch on Spotlight all persist as targeting signals, and that persistent layer is what the $36.82 is built from.

What the price is built on

  • Contact graph and messaging frequency — who, how often, never the disappeared content itself.
  • Lens and filter usage, including sponsored AR try-ons.
  • Spotlight and Stories watch behavior.
  • Location via the Snap Map, where sharing is enabled.
