How much does LinkedIn earn from your profile?

LinkedIn crossed $17 billion in fiscal-2025 revenue across roughly 1.2 billion members — about $14.87 per member, concentrated into ~$62 per monthly active user. The twist: the biggest buyer of your professional data isn't an advertiser. It's a recruiter with a Talent Solutions licence.

How LinkedIn turns you into revenue

LinkedIn runs a different trade from every other entry in this collection. Ads matter, but the engine is selling structured access to your career: recruiters pay four-figure annual seats for Recruiter licences that search, filter and message the member graph; sales teams pay for Sales Navigator to do the same to buyers. Your job title, skills, tenure and connections are the inventory — which is why LinkedIn's monetization is the most concentrated of any major platform, at roughly four times more revenue per active user than per member.

Since it's a Microsoft segment rather than a standalone filer, per-user economics are derived, not reported — the bands above divide disclosed segment revenue across member and active-user counts.

What the price is built on

  • Your profile itself: title, employer, skills, education, tenure — a structured CV.
  • The connection graph — who you know and how your industries interlock.
  • Job-seeking signals: openness to work, applications, recruiter responses.
  • Engagement with posts and ads, feeding both feed ranking and B2B targeting.

Turn it down

LinkedIn advertising data settings ↗ control what feeds ad targeting; the data-privacy section governs recruiter visibility and off-LinkedIn data use. Remember the trade-off: the same visibility that prices your profile also gets you hired — tune it to your situation. The full ranked plan is on the take-it-back page.
